The W21C is a health systems research and innovation initiative based in the University of Calgary. W21C’s interdisciplinary team drives change in the health care system to enhance patient safety and quality of care. The W21C Innovation Academy is a fast-paced scientific and business pitch competition, which uses an adapted Dragon’s Den™ style format. Participants showcase their novel and creative strategies that have the potential to stimulate significant change related to innovations in health care and health systems delivery.
This year, W21C hosted the second Innovation Academy on September 24, 2015 to identify and nurture Alberta’s health innovations. After two rounds of business pitches, a panel of judges recognized Physio4D as one of the three teams representing Canada in the second Global Healthcare Innovation Academy in Summer 2016. This recognition puts more responsibility on our team to deliver an excellent performance.
